TRACKRIPPER II DOCS Exclusively for U.G.A./NEWSFLASH 1990
With Trackripper II you can load trackloaded programs and store
them as data files (not executeable).Trackripper II can also
load raw blocks and Bootleg 2.1 programs.
When you first run Trackripper II,it will open two windows.
The lower part will show my adress, the above part only
shows a gadget with 'DF0:intro'.This gadget is the filename of
the program you want to save.
If you press the left-mouse button,do it in the upper part of the
screen, since you might deactivate the upper part, and then you
can't choose any menu items.
The menu shows a couple of items:
--------------+--------------------+-------------------+
PROGRAM | RIPPING | BUFFER |
--------------+--------------------+-------------------+
Save buffer | Automatic rip |Showbuffer |
Change drive | Manual Sectorload |Set size of buffer |
QUIT |--------------------+-------------------+
--------------+
-Save buffer:
with this option you can save the buffer with the filename
you gave in the gadget. The file will have the length of the
ripped program.
-Change drive:
This opens the input window. You will be askedto give a number
from 0 to 3 to state the drive you wish to select for
the rape...
-Quit:
(...)
-Automatic rip:
This starts the rape...The program will load the bootblock
of the drive you selected.Secondly,it will look
for a Bootleg boot ('BOIL' at the 3rd word).
If it finds one it will show the length, and ask you if
you want to load it.If no Bootleg boot is found,it will
continue the scan for a trackloader.
It will scan for JMP's and JSR's.All JMP's and JSR's
will be shown, with the adress they jump to.
Then it will show the blocknumbers, offset, length and loadadres
of a trackloader if it is found and you can load it...
-Manual Sectorload:
Here you must give the startblock and endblock of the part
you want to load.
A disk has 1760 blocks,80tracks, so each track has 22 blocks.
So if you want to load blocks 1700 to 1760,
you type '1700' as startblock and '1760' as endblock.
-Showbuffer:
This shows the adress and length of the buffer.
-Set buffersize:
With setbuffersize you can change the size of the buffer.
Trackripper II can only trackload into chip-mem,so the
buffer is located in chip-mem.So if you have a full cli-window
opened underneath Trackripper, make it as small as possible before
you start.
If the program you have ripped is a Bootleg program, then the startadress
is $1FB48 !!
If you want to use the programs you have ripped, you should use Tetrapack.
Load the saved data file with 'o',and enter the loadadress (given by
Trackripper),crunch it,and enter the startadress...
Watch UGA for updates!
